ICCCF 2018 Call for Papers

6th International Conference on Cybercrime and Computer Forensics 2018, Penang, Malaysia (ICCCF 2018 Penang)

IEEE Malaysia Section – Computer Chapter and Computational Intelligence Chapter expected to be our technical paper sponsor (accepted IEEE stream papers will be considered for IEEE Xplore Digital Library and for social science stream-international journal)

Theme: Cybercrime Research, Policy and Practice: A Southeast Asian Perspective

The ever increase in technological developments in personal computing, smart phone and wireless devices in recent years has created significant challenges in the Southeast Asian region and beyond. This important conference will explore the expansion of technology-enabled crimes and how the experience of Southeast Asian can inform technological, legal and policy responses internationally.

Abstracts can address any relevant questions within this broad theme and presenters should choose to present in one of two streams:

  • Research and policy
  • Practice and technology

Examples of research issues within these streams include:

a) Research and policy
Results of cybercrime research and discussion of related policy issues, including:

  • Personal information, privacy and identity misuse
  • Intellectual property regulation
  • Illegal content in cyberspace
  • Online dishonesty
  • Regulating the internet of things
  • Sentencing cyber criminals
  • Ais
  • Robotics
  • Marine

b) Practice and technology
Practical issues and technology affecting cybercrime and its prevention and regulation, such as:

  • Computer and mobile forensics
  • Resource allocation within law enforcement
  • Cyber intelligence sharing
  • Data sharing across networks
  • Cloud security
  • Biometric authentication
  • Cyber crime prevention software
  • Botnet monitoring or Malware Analysis
  • Ais
  • Robotics
  • Marine

We especially encourage PhD students’ submissions – posters or research papers (students’ submissions would be considered by an international panel for best paper award in ‘cash voucher’ in USD).

2018 Best Paper Award

One normal paper and One student paper will be considered for best paper award by a panel of judges, a cash voucher in USD will be presented to the winner at the conference. Further information about the best paper award visit ‘Best Paper Awards’.

Submission

Please submit your abstract via the ‘IEEE Stream’ or ‘Social Science Stream’ below.  Abstracts should not exceed 300 words. Poster submission also welcome.

The abstract should outline the background, aims and content of the presentation. Abstracts related to research studies should include sections describing the methods, results and conclusions of the study.

Submitting authors should be the main presenter and must register to attend the conference.

Authors should indicate if they are submitting under (a) Research and policy or (b) Practice and technology.

Authors should also indicate if they wish to have their full paper considered for further publication:

Those who present in the Practice and technology stream will have the opportunity to be considered for publication and indexing within the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ (IEEE) Xplore system. Proposals for publication in IEEE Xplore must be formatted using an IEEE-approved template, available at www.ieee.org

Special issue of Information Systems Journal

Presenters can submit a paper for consideration, no more than six pages of A4 size, 1.5 lines spacing (max. 3000 words in length) in PDF format. Papers should include an abstract, methodology with a strong theoretical base and a brief outline of the conclusion. Final papers will be due by September 2019 for peer review.

To be considered for this special issue, the paper must be presented for the first time at ICCCF 2018 and not previously published.
